What this calculator does
This calculator handles the math a TI-84 Plus CE does in Algebra 2, Pre-Calc, Calculus, and AP Statistics. Every key on the pad works the way it does on the handheld, including 2nd and ALPHA.

Answers look the way they do on the real screen. Type 2÷3 and you get .6666666667. Divide by zero and you get ERR:DIVIDE BY 0 with the same Quit and Goto choices, and the TI-84 error codes guide explains every message.

How to use it
To find the mean and standard deviation of 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42, enter the numbers into L1 and run 1-Var Stats. These are the same presses you would make on a TI-84 Plus CE.
- Press STAT, then ENTER to open Edit.
- Type each number and press ENTER after it, so L1 holds all six values.
- Press 2nd, then MODE to quit to the home screen.
- Press STAT, press the right arrow once to reach CALC, and press 1 for 1-Var Stats.
- Press ENTER to run it.
The screen shows x̄=18, Sx=13.49073756, σx=12.31530213, n=6, and Med=15.5. Use Sx when your numbers are a sample, and σx when they are the whole population. The standard deviation calculator explains that choice in more detail.
On a newer TI-84 Plus CE, step 4 opens a small screen that asks for the list. Leave it on L1 and choose Calculate. This simulator skips that screen and uses L1 by default.
To graph, press Y=, type X²−4 next to Y₁, and press GRAPH. Then press 2nd, TRACE, and 2 for zero. Move the cursor left of 2, press ENTER, move right of 2, press ENTER twice, and the screen shows X=2.
What it cannot do
This is an original simulator written for the web, so some handheld features are not here yet. Here is the honest list.
- No programs or apps. PRGM and APPS show a short notice, so the Finance app and TVM Solver are not here yet.
- No matrix editor yet, so determinants, inverses, and rref need a handheld for now.
- No stat plots or hypothesis tests on this screen.
- REAL mode only. Square roots of negative numbers give ERR:NONREAL ANSWERS, the same as a handheld left in REAL mode.
- You cannot use it on the SAT, ACT, or an AP exam. Those tests need an approved handheld, and the exam calculator checker shows which ones.
It does not load any Texas Instruments software or ROM file. Every result comes from math code written for this site, so a long decimal can differ from a handheld in its last digit.
TI-84 Plus CE vs TI-84 Evo
The TI-84 Evo is the newer model, released by Texas Instruments in April 2026. It runs the same kind of math as the TI-84 Plus CE but is faster and gives graphs more room.

If you already own a TI-84 Plus CE, you do not need to upgrade for any course. The button sequences on this site follow the Plus CE, and the Evo's redesigned menus move some of them.
